Bouvardia
Bouvardia is a member of the Rubiaceae family and is a genus of about 30 species of evergreen herbs and shrubs. They can grow to 1.5 meters tall and has blooms of many colors such as white, yellow, pink and red. Bouvardia is not very common, even though it is available year-round in sub-tropical zones like Mexico, its native land, as well as under glass in the United Kingdom, where it was introduced in 1854. They represent excitement, which is understandable from their loose clusters of tubular starlet flowers in bright colors that resemble fireworks in mid-explosion.
Fun fact:  These plants are named after Parisian doctor Charles Bouvard, who was the personal physician to Louis the XIII and director of the Jardin des Plantes.
